According to reports in London, Arsenal are reportedly edging closer to completing the
signing of Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson as soon as possible.
Earlier this week, former second choice goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez departed the Emirates Stadium to become number one at Aston Villa in a £20m deal.
Rather than spend a big fee on a replacement, the Gunners have instead set their sights on bringing in Iceland international Runarsson.
According to Sky Sports News , Arsenal want to sign the 25-year-old in time for the player to feature among the substitution against West Ham United on Saturday.
For that to occur, a deal needs to be made official before Friday’s 12pm deadline, leaving club officials under pressure to finalise terms on Thursday.
Runarsson has made 45 appearances during his two seasons at Dijon.
