Arsenal played against Leicester City at the king power stadium on Wednesday night I the Carabao cup with an advancement spot in the competition on the line.
As expected it was no easy game with a trip to king power always going to prove a tricky fixture but has been the case all season, Arteta’s found a way to dig out victory.
A goalless draw was played out in the first half with a lacklustre display from both teams ensuring a drap first half. There were attempts on goal from both sides but no breakthrough was to be made despite Bernd Leno almost gifting the home team a goal, which in his defense was probably no fault of his.
The deadlock was to be broken in the second half with Arsenal getting the breakthrough from an unlikely source when Leicester’s Christian Fuchs puts through his own net off an Eddie Nketiah attempt. The young Englishman was not to be denied a place in the score sheet when he finally found a goal in the closing moments of the match off a brilliant assist from Hector Ballerin.
Arsenal will now proceed to the next phase of the competition but first have to settle a Premier League date with Jurgen Kloop’ Liverpool on Saturday.
