Arsenal identify Emi Martinez replacement

Martinez is hopeful Arsenal will help to facilitate his transfer to another club after his great service to the club as Arteta cannot offer him a regular starting spot as 1st team goalkeeper.
Arsenal have reportedly identified Brentford goalkeeper David Raya as a replacement for Emiliano Martinez if he should leave the team this summer.
Mikel Arteta is happy to sell Martinez this summer as he can’t guarantee him the no.1 jersey now Bernd Leno is fit again after injury.
Martinez has been attracting interest from club’s in England and Spain with Valencia and Real Betis the current front runners for his signature.
The Gunners are hopeful of raising up to £20million from the Argentinian’s sale following his impressive performances in the back end of the season which helped them to FA Cup success and 8th position in the Premier League.
While Arsenal believe that figure is a realistic valuation of Martinez’s talents, the 27-year-old hopes they will not stand in his way if clubs are not prepared to bid that high for him.
Martinez has been fiercely loyal to Arsenal but no longer wants to sit around as back-up to Leno, meaning Arteta has had to seek out a new no.2.
He’s found one in the form of Bees’ Spanish stopper Raya, who was recommended to Arteta by Arsenal’s goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana, who worked closely with the 24-year-old at Brentford.
One bonus of signing Raya is that he qualifies as a home grown talent having come through the academy at Blackburn.
Club scouts have been monitoring Raya’s progress for months and he could be tempted by a move to The Emirates after Brentford agonizingly missed out on promotion to the Premier League due to defeat in the play-off final.
