Arsenal linked with surprise late swoop to sign £9 million Frenchman

According to reports in London, Arsenal are being linked with a shock late swoop to sign French International, Thomas Lemar on loan from Atletico Madrid.

The north London club have been desperately trying to bring in at least one midfielder during the closing weeks of the transfer window and Arsenal have been strongly linked with Atletico midfielder, Thomas Partey.

Reports in London are citing a report from the Telegraph that claims Arsenal are clear to sign Thomas Lemar after Atletico made it clear the winger can leave on loan before the window closes at 11pm.

The newspaper says Lemar is already in talks with an unnamed Premier League club about a transfer and it’s suggested that Arsenal could be a possible destination for the Frenchman.

The Sun reported over the weekend that German gaint Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig had withdrawn their interest in the 24-year-old after Atletico demanded a £9m loan fee. Coupled with £6m in wages, the one year loan would cost around £15.

Hopefully the club are focussing their efforts on
signing a midfielder as we desperately need to
bring in at least one before the window closes.
