Arsenal have allegedly approached Lazio with a fresh offer for Joaquin Correa.
The 26-year-old is said to have recently been the subject of a €20 million (£17 million) bid from the Gunners, with the Italian side quickly rejecting the approach from the North London outfit.
However, according to a recent report from Il Messaggero, the Gunners have now made a proposal of between €15 million (£12.9 million) and €20 million (£17 million) for Correa, in addition to offering the Uruguay international Lucas Torreira to the Serie A club as part of the deal.
The report says that Lazio are prepared to accept the current offer, and Correa is hopeful that a move to the Emirates Stadium can be agreed in the immediate future.
The Argentine star, who has recently been linked with Liverpool, netted 11 times and registered six assists in 38 outings at club level during the 2020-21 campaign.
Meanwhile, the forward has netted 30 goals and contributed 18 assists in 117 appearances for Lazio since joining the White and Sky Blues from the La Liga side Sevilla back in 2018.
Elsewhere, Southampton and Watford are allegedly eyeing moves for Ainsley Maitland-Niles amid lack of certainty surrounding his Arsenal future.
The versatile player struggled to get a look-in under manager Mikel Arteta during the first half of the 2020-21 term, and the star was shipped out on loan to West Bromwich Albion for the remainder of the season.
