Arsenal’s imminent sale of second choice goalkeeper goalkeeper Emi Martinez, likely to Aston Villa, has set the chase for a replacement into overdrive in north London, with reports suggesting an Icelandic international could be next through the door.
Runar Alex Runarsson, of French club Dijon, is according to the Daily Star , the Gunners’ top target, with a move for David Raya from Brentford seemingly going quiet.
The 25-year-old Icelandic international has five caps for his country and has racked up over 100 appearances for Dijon in Ligue 1. And so far as put in a superb performance in between the pole.
Runarsson is likely to be available for an ‘agreeable’ price for Arsenal who are set to make £20million from the sale of Emi Martinez.
Arsenal goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana has previously worked with Runar Alex Runarsson during a spell in Denmark with FC Nordsjaelland.
