Arsenal vs Chelsea: Team News, Predicted Line Up and all you should know

The nerves are beginning to kick in now, it’s only a couple of hours until the men in red go up against those in blue in the prestigious venue that is Wembley stadium. Arsenal, the record 13 time Champions go up against Chelsea looking to widen the gap between them and Manchester United who sit second on most FA Cup wins with 12 to their name.

Mikel Arteta has only been in charge as boss for half a season but may very well bag a first managerial trophy should he inspire his team to a victory.

There are a number of absentees ahead of the game, most notably is Mesut Ozil who has reportedly not trained with the team for the last couple of days and has been in Turkey. Matteo Guendouzi is another of such absentee with the Frenchman being ousted from the senior team for sometime now for reported misconduct.

German shot stopper, Bernd Leno has been out injured for a couple of weeks now but it’s safe to say Arsenal have not missed the German cat with his deputy, Emiliano Martinez, filling in with the uttermost efficiency.

Elsewhere, German defender Shkodran Mustafi will kiss the game having sustained a minor injury which he is currently still nursing.

When it comes to games like this, it is really difficult to predict which team the manager would go for, not like its easy on the normal match days anyways.

Mikel may very well choose to go for the three-at-the-back which has worked so well for him.

If indeed Mikel Arteta opts for a three defender system then we can expect to see David Luiz being flanked by Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding. Bukayo Saka and Hector Bellerin should start at wing-back.

It is difficult to foresee another midfield pivot other than that of Granit Xhaka partnering Dani Ceballos. Lucas Torreira should of course be the first midfield option on the bench should Arsenal need to tighten things later in the game.

In the attack, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a household name and for a shorty will start.

There aren’t much viable options asides Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe and both are expected to start alongside the prolific Gabonese.
