Arteta phones Bayern star to join Arsenal, Another Lille player to Arsenal and the latest Arsenal updates

Arsenal transfer news and speculations keep getting churned out as the days pass and here’s today’s daily digest.

Mikel Arteta phones Thiago

According to Journalist, Patrick Juan, Mikel Arteta had a phone call with Thiago Alcantara on Tuesday, in an effort to convince the midfield general to move to England and to the red side of London precisely.

Bayern Munich are said to be willing to part ways with the 29-year old as they seek to focus on youth. They will demand payment in the region of £23m.

Lille defender, Gabriel, is all but an Arsenal player, with a medical already completed and only an official announcement left of the formalities. Gabriel’s agent has gone on to insinuate that the defender joined Arsenal for love and not due to the financial offers as Arsenal’s offer weren’t the best.

Guilherme Miranda, said
“Arsenal was nowhere near the best proposal [money wise]. Gabriel chose them over more lucrative offers because Edu convinced us of the project. It’s 100% because of Edu Gaspar and Arteta.”

This is of course a welcome improvement as Arsenal very well need players who are willing to play for the club and not after the money.

Arsenal to offer Guendouzi for Soumare

According to BreakingDogues, Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumaré is in the sights of AC Milan, Manchester United and Arsenal who would have taken the lead in the race.

Arsenal have proposed a swap for Soumare with Matteo Guendouzi. Matteo Guendouzi is on the market as Arsenal try to do away with the youngster who seemingly has disciplinary issues and a swap deal with Lille for Soumare might be the perfect way to do that.
