Arteta speaks about Auba as Kroenke sanctions mega-money deal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s contract situation has been on the headlines for quite a long time now and it is beginning to gain a lot of attention again as the Gabonese once again proved his worth in Arsenal’s FA Cup win having scored a brace in the semi-final and final again Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.

Tieing Aubameyang to a new contract is high on the priority list of those in charge at the Emirates and also very crucial to Mikel Arteta’s project. The striker has now scored seventy(70) goals in just two and a half seasons in red and that underlines his importance.

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal will offer Aubameyang a new and improved contract of around £250,000 a week plus added incentives, on the sanction of Arsenal owner, Stan Kroenke. Aubameyang has proven very much deserving of whatever comes his way an the aforementioned package cannot be considered too big for one so efficient in his job as the striker.

Mikel Arteta spoke when asked about the Aubameyang situation and he responded
“The most difficult thing in football is to find the right striker, that is for sure and he makes it look simple.”

“We always had incredible strikers at this football club and Auba deserves to be named and compared with the big names. By winning trophies he will be closer to that and the longer he stays here, hopefully we can have him for longer.” He continued.

“The biggest problem was to convince him to work the way he was working. He was going to get more rewards and more respect – and our respect would go to admiration.”

“Admiration from his team-mates and the people who have been with him and also from the fans. I think now, the way he is conducting himself on and off the field, he has got that and has reached that.” He concluded.

Arsenal will hope to resolve Aubameyang’s contract situation as soon as possible and focus on other pressing issues in the transfer window.
