In this article, you will learn about Bukayo Saka’s net worth, biography, career and awards.
Bukayo Saka Biography/Early Life
Bukayo Saka was born to Nigerian parents who had migrated to England in search of greener pastures. Born and brought up in the United Kingdom, Bukayo Saka attended the Greenford High School. He was also enrolled at the Hale End College in Arsenal.
Born in Ealing, he grew up in Greenford, West London with his mum, dad, and brother, Yomi. His family is sports-loving, as he attested to playing football with his dad and brother each day after school.
His brother, Yomi, played for Watford until he was about 14, and he was enrolled into the Hale End College in Arsenal. While his mum will take Yomi to Watford, his father always drove him to Arsenal.
He never thought that the football he plays and enjoys for fun can become an income-generating career for him until he was promoted to the Arsenal U-23 team, and was offered a professional contract by Arsenal.
Outside football, Bukayo Saka seemed to be academically brilliant. He always made three or four A*s in all his GCSEs. He loved PE and Business Studies and his parents were pleased with his academic successes.
Bukayo Saka Career
Bukayo Saka might have started playing football at the age of three or four, with his dad on brother on the green, but he didn’t start a professional football career until he was about 17.
Bukayo Saka debuted what could be described as a successful career in a Europa League match against Vorskla Poltava. He was brought on in the 68th minute, as a substitute for Aaron Ramsey on the 29th of November 2018.
However, he didn’t get to feature in a full match until 13th December 2018, in the same competition, but this time against FK Qarabag. Barely three weeks later, he debuted his first Premier League game in a 4-1 win against Fulham, replacing Alex Iwobi in the 83rd minute of the game.
After about one year later, Saka had registered himself as a dominant force in the Arsenal squad, as he assisted twice and scored once to seal a win against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League. That goal was scored on the 19th September 2019 and was to be Saka’s first professional career goal.
With prominent Arsenal wingbacks getting injured, Saka began establishing himself as a regular wingback in the Arsenal team. He scored his first Premier League goal in an encounter against Wolverhampton Wanderers, which led Arsenal to win the game with a 2 goal margin.
In the sight of his invaluable contributions to the Arsenal team, he signed another long term contract that would extend his stay at Arsenal.
Bukayo Saka is still yet to feature for any country at the senior international level. He had previously represented England at the under-16, under-17, under-18, and under-19 level where he excelled greatly.
Given his international youth football experience, it’s almost obvious that he’ll be featuring for England at the senior international levels.
However, Nigeria has been showing interest in the services of the multi-talented young forward. While he might get a call from England and play for them, there is also a possibility of Saka playing for Nigeria, after all, his parents are Nigerian.
Saka featured in his first international competition in the 2018 UEFA European Under-17 Championship at the under-17 level, when he was included in the England under-17 squad. Despite being the hosts, England was eliminated by the Netherlands in a penalty shootout at the semi-final stages.
Later that year, Saka found the back of the net in an under-18 away game against France. He was called up to the under-19 team immediately after.
Surprisingly, he scored on the debut match for the under-19 team in a qualifier game against Moldova.
Bukayo Saka Awards
Bukayo Saka is still relatively young and hasn’t been able to achieve a lot in his career. Considering this fact, it will be hard to compile Bukayo Saka’s awards, unless we’ll be counting Man of the Match awards. Here is a list of the relative few he’s won:
|UEFA Europa League||2018-19||Runner-up|
|Arsenal February Player of the Month||2020||Winner|
Although these awards might not be so impressive at the moment, the potential achievements of this player are limitless. Bukayo Saka has exhibited extraordinary talent that kept him at the Arsenal first team, and unless a Sanchez-like experience replicates itself, he won’t be needing a lot of time to amass countless awards.
Bukayo Saka Personal Life
Bukayo Saka is still unmarried and lives with his parents. However, this isn’t too surprising, after all, he’s just 19!
Additionally, Bukayo Saka is 178cm tall and weighs 65kg.
Bukayo Saka Net Worth
Bukayo Saka is worth an estimated $2.2 million. Most of his income comes from his weekly wage at Arsenal, which amounts to $70,000 weekly, on average.
Bukola Saka’s market worth is 30 Million Euros, which is quite small when compared to that of similar football players. However, it is understandable, given that Bukola Saka is just 18, and wasn’t even listed on the market in the last year!
