Arsenal to announce Gabriel in coming hours

Arsenal are set to sign Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes after agreeing a five-year deal with the Brazilian.

The Telegraph reports that the Gunners beat Napoli and Everton in the race for the 22-year-old, who agreed terms at the Emirates on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, L’Equipe reports that Gabriel will be announced as a Gunners player within hours.

The centre-back is one of the hottest prospects in European football after impressing for Lille in Ligue 1 last season.

Aubameyang returns from summer break

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is flying back from his holiday to England – which means his new contract can be finalised.

According to James Olley of ESPN, the striker has agreed a new contract with Arsenal, with the club only waiting for the striker to return from holiday to announce the news.

“Aubameyang is done, my understanding is he’s away on holiday and when he comes back they’ll shoot the promotion stuff,” ESPN journalist and Arsenal expert James Olley told talkSPORT earlier this week.

Well, he’ll be back imminently. Aubameyang posted a video of himself boarding a plane earlier this evening.

Arteta could integrate El Neny

Mikel Arteta is set to link up with Mohamed Elneny for the first time as the Egypt midfielder returns to Arsenal for pre-season training.

Elneny joined Besiktas on a season-long loan twelve months ago, when Arteta’s predecessor Unai Emery was still Gunners boss.

The 28-year-old performed well for the Turkish giants, making 36 appearances across all competitions and contributing one goal and four assists.

But with loan spell over, Elneny will return to the Arsenal squad and begin preparations for the coming campaign this weekend.
