Arsenal are continuing to make efforts to raise transfer funds in order to bring in their targets, but one move which looks unlikely involves Alexandre Lacazette and Italian giant Roma.
The France striker had been linked with Atletico Madrid before the Spanish club sealed a move for Luis Suarez, but interest remains from elsewhere.
According to reports in Italy, Roma expressed an interest in the 29-year-old, who cost Arsenal £47m back in 2017.
However, the amount floated by the Italian club has reportedly fallen “comfortably below” the amount the Gunners want for the striker, so much so that the deal is not expected to move any further.
Roma have already signed one player from Arsenal this summer, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan joining after a successful loan spell in the Italian capital, but this one does not look to have legs.
