Arsenal confident of Coutinho deal
Arsenal are growing increasingly confident of landing Philippe Coutinho on loan, with talks believed to be at an advanced stage.
Barcelona are desperate to offload Coutinho, who has struggled at the Nou Camp ever since arriving from Liverpool for £145millionin January 2018.
The Brazilian playmaker spent the season on loan at Bayern Munich but didn’t impress enough to earn a permanent move to the Bundesliga giants.
Coutinho, however, isn’t short of admirers and Arsenal have declared their interest in bringing the former Anfield hero back to the Premier League.
And according to Sport, his loan move is on the brink of being completed.
Indeed, the Spanish publication also claims that the Gunners ‘love’ the midfielder.
Arsenal’s relationship with Coutinho’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, has helped progress talks, with his client list including current Arsenal stars David Luiz and Cedric Soares.
Another of Joorabchian’s clients is Willian, who is believed to be close to signing for Arsenal.
“It’s no secret he wants to come back to the Premier League,” Joorabchian said at the end of July.
“It’s still very much open. There is a lot of genuine interest.
Bennacer explains why he left Arsenal
Ismael Bennacer says a lack of first-team football drove him to seek an exit from Arsenal.
The midfielder departed the Gunners in 2017 for Empoli after two years at the Emirates Stadium, during which time he managed just one appearance.
After impressive form for Empoli, he joined AC Milan last summer and has enjoyed an impressive debut season at the San Siro.
Three years contract offer for Willian
Arsenal have made a formal three-year contract offer to Willian, edging them to the front of the race to sign the Brazilian forward.
Joining Mikel Arteta’s rejuvenated side and the chance to work with fellow Brazilian Edu are the reasons Arsenal are favourites to secure Willian’s signature. The Gunners have made a formal three-year contract offer to Willian, still some way short of the terms offered by Barcelona and Inter Miami.
Arsenal willing to Offload Lacazette
Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette will be sold this summer if they receive a good enough offer for the 29-year-old, according to The Times.
Journalist Gary Jacob claims the Gunners “are open to selling” the Frenchman with teams in both Spain and Italy keen on snapping up the player.
Lacazette did struggle for form last season, having scored just 12 goals in all competitions, but he did finish the campaign strongly.
Despite an upturn in his fortunes, though, Arsenal are keen to raise funds for signings and they are considering whether to offer him to Atletico Madrid in their bid for Thomas Partey.
