Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil holds an uncertain future although there is growing interest in the 31-year-old footballer. He is still under contract with Arsenal FC, the German has drawn attention in the Turkish league but prefers to play out his current deal with the Gunner which ends 2021.
With Ozil grounded, there is a growing belief that he could be sold or loan out next season, but no team will be willing to loan him cause of his huge wage. The latest team linked to Mesut Ozil is Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia.
Ozil has allegedly turn down a $20 million per year contract. However, it appears Al-Nassr is in no rush, aware that the final say remains with Arsenal. If nothing goes down this year, the Saudi club is ready to wait until next year when Ozil’s contract runs out, Fanatik reported.
Al-Nassr becomes the second club linked to Ozil in the middle east. The first one was an unknown club from Qatar but the German opted to stick with the Gunners despite his predicament. The 31-year-old prefers to see out his contract and weigh his options next summer once his contract runs out.
“I’m here through to the last day of our agreement and I’ll give everything I have for this club. I’ll decide when I go, not other people. I didn’t sign for two or three years. I signed for four and that should be respected by everyone,” Ozil said.
Seeing Ozil back at Emirates Stadium is not looking good, especially after he openly criticized the club, saying that Arsenal rushed everyone into pay cuts during the coronavirus pandemic.
