Arsenal’s incoming transfers have dominated the headlines but the importance of selling out cannot be overstated and one such player who may very well be on the way out is Lucas Torreira.
Reports from Italian newspapers reports that Torino are offering Arsenal €24m to sign the clubs midfielder Lucas Torreira on a permanent deal.
Torino are hoping to take advantage of the fact that Serie A rival Fiorentina are bidding a similar amount but only on a loan with an obligation to sign at the end of the season.
Torino are aware that Arsenal needs transfer funds, to push for the potential signing of transfer target Thomas Partey.
Marco Giampaolo is the current head coach of Torino, but he also managed Lucas Torreira when the two of them were at Sampdoria. He’s obviously a major driving force behind the move for Lucas Torreira, and he seems a reunion between them might work out, cause Lucas Torreira wants a return to Italy so bad. Reports suggests Giampaolo already spoke to Torreira to make his case clear, and it seems Torreira agent has agreed a deal.
We know the Torino interest in Torreira is genuine. Their club president confirmed as much publicly, though insisted the Arsenal midfielder isn’t their only target.
Sports newspapers in Italy recently reported the Arsenal talks over Torreira with both Torino and Fiorentina. He believes they’ll find an agreement in the coming weeks. But at the time, he suggested those conversations were still ongoing.
